WHAT: Epilepsy support group meeting

DETAILS: Group is open to adults with epilepsy or seizure disorders, their family members, friends, caregivers and anyone who would like to share their experiences and support those who are managing seizures. Parents of children with epilepsy are encouraged to attend. Adult topics can come up that may be inappropriate for young children. Parental discretion is advised.
WHAT: Third annual Zachary Gleaux Run
WHEN: 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6. , followed by a 5K run
WHERE: The Pointe at Americana, 1160 Americana Blvd., Zachary
DETAILS: A family party starts at 5 p.m. at the Americana YMCA, 4200 Liberty Way, also the site of the post-run party. Wear your best “glow” attire. Prizes will be awarded. A DJ, glow photo station and food and drinks will be featured. Proceeds benefit the Zachary Chamber of Commerce and physical education departments at Zachary schools. A portion of funds will go toward building and enhancing walking and biking trails in Zachary.
BORN TO RUN
WHAT: Born to Run 1-mile and 5K
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 7. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m.; 1-mile run/walk starts at 9 a.m., 5K at 9:30 a.m.

DETAILS: This Woman’s New Life Center event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels to a fun day for the whole family. The run concludes with a ‘Birth’ Day Party, featuring food, live music and family activities.
