“Classic Homes and Cocktails 2015,” a Dec. 11 home tour benefiting the Foundation for Historical Louisiana, will showcase six residences in the historic neighborhood of College Town, spotlighting preservation of homes.
The tour begins with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m. at the home of Marci and Bob Drumm, 560 Stanford Ave., where music and the popular “Tacky Sweater” contest will be held. Wear yours for a chance to be named “Tackiest Christmas Sweater of Baton Rouge.”
Home tours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Those taking the tour can either ride in provided vans or walk to the tour homes, which are on Stanford, Yale, Harvard and LSU avenues.
Parking will be at the Baton Rouge Beach with shuttle service to the host home.
Proceeds from the event benefit FHL, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving Louisiana’s culture, history and architecture, headquartered in the Old Governor’s Mansion. This event honors FHL board member and former Hotel Indigo General Manager Francis Grayson, who died two years ago and who helped to create the FHL’s holiday tour event.
The event is co-chaired by FHL board members Vicki Spurlock, Myrna Bergeron and Claire Major.
