Want to learn how to make lemon curd and chutney?

Join the Baton Rouge Unit of the Herb Society of America for a hands-on class from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Ione E. Burden Conference Center, 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge.

Participants will make lemon curd, mango chutney and another chutney of seasonal fruit and will take home jars of each. Participants, who should bring a sharp knife and an apron, will also receive a cookbook of preserving recipes and techniques.

The cost is $55; $45 for Herb Society members. Register at hsabr.org and pay online, or send your name, address, email and check to Treasurer, 9355 Woodbine St., Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Enrollment is limited; registration closes Jan. 17.
