Six historic residences will be showcased at the Foundation for Historical Louisiana’s “Classic Homes and Cocktails 2014” benefit soiree on Dec. 12.
The tour, which runs from 6-8:30 p.m., spotlights preservation efforts in recent years by local homeowners. Tickets are $40 in advance for FHL members, $50 for non-members via fhl.org or $60 at the door. For information, call (225) 387-2464.
The event begins at the Baton Rouge Gallery, 1515 Dalrymple Drive, with refreshments, then proceeds to the homes, which were built in the 1920s through 1940s.
The tour includes three residences in the Historic District of Drehr Place, two in Roseland Terrace and a home in Kleinert Terrace, adjacent neighborhoods known collectively as The Garden District of Baton Rouge.
On tour are the homes of: Dr. Kurt Lejeune, Lisa and Albert Pellissier, and Sandra Hudson, in Drehr Place; Michael McIntosh, and Katharine and Jason Dore, in Roseland Terrace, and Beryl and Ray Mack, in Kleinert-Terrace.
The tour honors the late Francis Grayson, who as an FHL board member helped create the event. Those attending can also compete for the “Tackiest Christmas Sweater of Baton Rouge” title.
