Applications are now being accepted for the fall class of the Louisiana Master Naturalists of Greater Baton Rouge course.

The course will include 10 six-hour workshops in fields of study including arthropods, river and forest ecology, birds, amphibians and reptiles with a special focus on ecosystems in and around Baton Rouge.

Courses will take place at various parks and wildlife refuges in the area.

Participants, once certified, are expected to continue to volunteer to promote and educate others about the environment.

The course fee of $225 includes workbook, supplemental information and fees at various parks and wildlife sites. Applications will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
