Garden looking a little peaked? Hit the 16th annual Summer Plant Sale and Gardening Expo from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, for some new plants to perk things up.
The sale is at 7950 Independence Blvd, the site of the Botanic Garden, which is where the proceeds go.
You’ll find varieties of culinary herbs, garden vegetables, roses, Louisiana irises, gingers, daylilies, native plants, begonias, succulents, ferns and lots more plants and shrubs, all locally grown. Garden society members and vendors also will be available to help select plants and offer tips on growing and maintenance.
The sale will be in the green area between the Garden Center and Airport Drive. Parking is ample and you may enter the lot from either Independence Boulevard or Airport Drive.
