Plaquemine’s Krewe of Cypress Ball Captains Kynan and Ragan White invited members and guests to join them for an evening of folklore and fairytales as they entered “Into The Woods” at the Carl Grant Civic Center on Saturday, Feb. 11.

Representing the Kisatchie National Forest, King Cypress XXXVIII Robert A. Samson and Queen Cypress XXXVIII Abigail Melise Samson reigned over the festivities. The queen is the daughter of the king and Missy Samson.

Maid Kelsey Olive Parchman, daughter of Kim and Ron Naumann, of Fayetteville, Texas, represented Russia's Siberian Forest. She is the niece of members Dale and Susie Burns, and was escorted by Duke Jason P. Allemond.

Visiting from the Enchanted Forest, Maid Emily Iledah Aucoin, daughter of Timmy and Suzanne Aucoin, was escorted by Duke Jeffrey P. Bongiovanni.

Maid Katie Lucille Grant, daughter of Carl Prentiss and Lisa Grant, of New Iberia, and granddaughter of member Peggy Grant and Duke Patrick J. Landry, arrived from the Sagano Bamboo Forest in Kyoto, Japan.

From deep within South America’s Amazon Rainforest arrived Maid Elise Michelle Porto and Duke Mason LeBlanc. Porto is the daughter of Joseph and Dana Porto, of Napoleonville, and niece of members Dean and Kitty Martin.

Krewe members provided entertainment during the tableau portraying the Rougarou, Forrest Gump, Dolly Parton and dancers from the Appalachian Mountains. Dancing continued to the music of The Issue.
