Baton Rouge native and actor Louis Herthum will guest-star on Tuesday night's premiere of NBC's "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders" at 9 p.m.

Herthum will play Sgt. Tom Edmunds, who interviewed Lyle and Erik Menendez shortly after the siblings' parents, Jose Menendez, 45, a rich entertainment executive; and Kitty Menendez, 47, were found dead in their Beverly Hills home on Aug. 20, 1989.

The eight-episode installment of the "Law & Order" franchise's newest anthology series goes in-depth into the high-profile case. The sons were eventually charged in the murders, tried separately and both convicted in 1994, and are serving life sentences without parole.

The show can be seen locally on WVLA, Channel 33 (cable Channel 3).
