FOX’s “MasterChef” is getting ready for its sixth season and brings its open casting call to New Orleans on Saturday. The show looks for home cooks who want to compete for a big cash prize and the title of “MasterChef.” Louisiana contestants among the 30 nationwide who competed last season were Astrid Lavenia, Mandeville; Christian Green, New Orleans; and Michael Williams, Thibodaux.
The open call will run 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Four Points Hotel, 541 Bourbon St. “MasterChef” judge Graham Elliot is scheduled to attend.

“Baggage on the Road,” a spin-off of the GSN show “Baggage” will be scouting for single men and women over 21 for the dating show in Baton Rouge and New Orleans this week.
Open calls in Baton Rouge, with casting producers on hand, will be 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, the Varsity Theatre; 9 p.m.-midnight Wednesday, Uncle Earl’s Bar; 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, Bar Louie; 10 p.m.-midnight Thursday, Ivar’s Sports Bar; and 10 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Fred’s in Tigerland.
A New Orleans casting call will take place 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday at Fulton Alley.
The shows will tape on the LSU campus Oct. 29-31.
