This year’s Louisiana Legends Gala and Auction, a fundraiser for Friends of Louisiana Public Broadcasting, will take place Thursday, May 5, at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

Honorees are Hollis Conway, two-time Olympic medalist and National Track and Field Hall Of Fame inductee; Charlie Cook, political analyst and editor and publisher of the Cook Political Report; William Doré, leader in the marine construction industry and 2000 Horatio Alger Award winner; Sylvia Goodman, philanthropist, community leader and Shreveport’s Citizen of the Year; W. Henson Moore, former U.S. Congressman, deputy chief of staff for President George H.W. Bush and LSU Alumnus of the Year; and Charlie Weems, community leader, philanthropist and LSU Law Center Hall of Fame honoree.

The gala will feature a champagne reception and buffet, a silent auction with items donated by the honorees, music and an awards ceremony. Highlights from the event will be broadcast at a later date on LPB.
