TV5 Monde's 25-hour "Tour of the Francophone World" hits New Orleans at 1 p.m. Thursday.
The live global voyage celebrating Francophonie culture and history began at 6 a.m. and airs through 7 a.m. Friday. Other stops include Paris, France; and Sidney, Australia.
For the one-hour segment in the Crescent City, host Didier Allouch will interview singer-songwriter Zachary Richard; Charles Larroque, manager of Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL); Louisiana-based director Austin Alward; René Bajeux, head chef of Dickie Brennan and Co.; Véronique Broussard, French teacher and radio presenter; Harmonouche, the New Orleans-based gypsy jazz and traditional jazz group; and director/producer Paul Chéenne, among others.
TV5 Monde is on cable Channel 266 in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, and cable Channel 335 in New Orleans.
