Ponchatoula native Meghan Linsey and Abbeville’s Koryn Hawthorne finished in the second- and fourth-runners-up spots respectively on NBC’s “The Voice” Tuesday night.
Sixteen-year-old Sawyer Fredericks, of Fultonville, New York, was named the winner of the reality singing competition series’ Season 8. Joshua Davis, of Travese City, Michigan, finished third.
“The competition aside, we are all so unbelievably proud of you,” coach Adam Levine, frontman for Maroon 5, told the four finalists at the start of the two-hour finale.
Country star Blake Shelton coached Linsey, while Pharrell Williams was coach to Hawthorne and Fredericks. None of coach Christina Aguilera’s team made it to the final four.
