"There's a new mouth in the river."

That's the subtitle of a new TV movie, "Mississippi River Sharks," that is helping launch the Syfy channel's "Sharknado Week" at 7 p.m. Monday.

The movie plot summary on the Syfy channel website remains as murky as the Mississippi, and twice as intriguing:

"Sharks attack a fish rodeo on the Mississippi River, and it is up to a group of locals, along with a visiting actor from a successful franchise of shark movies, to stop the sharks."

The movie, filmed in Ocean Springs, Miss., in February, stars brothers Jason and Jeremy London and Cassie Steele. It was directed by Misty Talley.

"Mississippi River Sharks" is one of six new killer-shark movies premiering this week, leading up to the latest edition of the granddaddy shark series of them all, "Sharknado 5: Global Swarming."

Syfy also will bring back previous favorites such as "Sharktopus" and "Roboshark," as well as offer a Sharknado marathon.
