Buddy Guy to headline 2016 BR Blues Festival _lowres

Photo provided by the Baton Rouge Blues Festival -- Louisiana native and blues legend Buddy Guy headlines the 2016 Baton Rouge Blues Festival, coming in April.

The blues are back in town this April.

The Baton Rouge Blues Festival has announced the schedule of performers in the 2016 edition of the annual event.

Nearly 40 performances will take place across four stages at the free event, which will be set in downtown Baton Rouge April 9-10.

This year’s lineup includes headliners such as Buddy Guy, Latimore, and Curtis Harding. Local and regional performers include Loudness War, The Rakers, and Michael Juan Nunez.

Lazy Lester is this year’s festival ambassador, and he will join several performers on stage throughout the weekend.
