Tickets are on sale for a performance by the Fatum Brothers’ Jazz Orchestra with special guest Jacob Dupré at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, in The Lyceum, 124 Third St.

The performance is made possible through the joint efforts of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and the Baton Rouge Jazz Ensemble.

The Fatum Brothers’ Jazz Orchestra is not an ordinary jazz big band.

Orchestra members study at conservatory programs including the Eastman School of Music, Northwestern University, New York University, the Manhattan School of Music, Juilliard School of Music, University of Illinois and New England Conservatory.

Special guest Jacob Dupré is a Baton Rouge musician who is also a student at Eastman School of Music in New York.

The orchestra has had more than 35 performances in two years, including the orchestra’s own Friday night summer concert series, a three week CD release tour featuring all original music, a “Jazz For Young People ... By Young People” curriculum, performances from Chicago to Los Angeles and sharing the stage with artists such as Grammy Award winner Bob Mintzer.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students.

There will be a cash bar. Table seating will be first come first serve.
