She would walk a thousand miles. Although, at this point in her career, she would probably rather you not bring up that song.

Vanessa Carlton, the 35-year-old Grammy nominated singer-songwriter behind the hit song “A Thousand Miles,” is touring behind her newly-released fifth album, “Liberman.”

Early next year, she’ll hit the Spanish Moon stage.

Carlton will perform at Baton Rouge venue Wednesday, Feb. 3. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 online.

While Carlton’s early career was defined by grandiose and romantic songs, the singer’s latest album is more laid-back and features a bit of folk, pop and rock.

Critics have been calling the album a surprise, and it will make listeners forget the first few Carlton records.

While her debut went platinum, her subsequent records failed to meet the sales expectations. In 2011, Carlton went independent. She’s currently on Dine Alone Records, a Canadian label that also has released material from bands such as Jimmy Eat World, FIDLAR and Sylvan Esso.
