‘Gentle Giant’ Don Williams postpones tour; Baton Rouge show canceled. _lowres

Photo provided by Don-Williams.com -- Country singer Don Williams has postponed his tour, which included a show in Baton Rouge, due to hip surgery.

Baton Rouge will miss out on a performance from a country great this spring.

Don Williams has been forced to postpone his 2016 tour after unexpected hip replacement surgery.

Williams’ performance scheduled for March 12 at the Baton Rouge River Center has been canceled, along with the rest of the 21-date tour.

Ticket refunds will be completed at the location where they were purchased. Tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded. Those who purchased tickets in person at the River Center box office will need to return the tickets for their refund. For more information, call (225) 389-3030.

Williams, who is also known as “the Gentle Giant,” dominated the country music landscape from the late 1960s to the 1990s. His career includes hits such as “Good Ole Boys Like Me,” “Till the Rivers All Run Dry,” and “I’m Just a Country Boy.” In 2010, Williams was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
