The show features Nelson’s band, the Family. The last time Nelson performed in Baton Rouge was in 2012 at the Varsity.
The 82-year-old performer has had a six-decade-long career and has sold more than 40 million albums in the United States.
In 2014, Nelson released “Band of Brothers,” which features nine original tunes and peaked at number five on the Billboard Top 200 albums charts. In 2015, he teamed up with Merle Haggard and released “Django and Jimmie,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart and number seven on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart.
