Christmas is history, and now we turn our attention to ringing in 2016. If you’re looking for THE place to be tomorrow at midnight, may I suggest downtown’s North Boulevard Town Square to watch the Red Stick drop.

You can even start earlier Thursday — 11 a.m. — and celebrate with the kiddos and join Mayor Kip Holden in watching the Red Stick rise 60 feet in the air and get ready for its midnight drop. Musical entertainment starts at 7 p.m. with Sheriff Bud Torres & the Posse followed by Phat Hat at 9. Sounds like a fun time, doesn’t it?
