Happy Christmas Eve and last night of Hanukkah! I hope this holiday season finds you and yours doing well.

It was certainly a great time for several members of the YMCA of the Capital Area staff. Courtney Guillen was named the Staff Associate of the Year, and Kevin Broussard and Jonathan Lee were named Directors of the Year at the Y’s annual Staff Recognition Dinner at Boudreaux’s Dec. 7. Carol Falgout, Brittany Royal, Corey Rodney and Barbara Dalcourt were tapped as the Tammie Taylor Service Ambassadors of the Year, while Anthony Richardson and Terrell Jordan each received the $1,000 Fred McCord Scholarship for continuing education.

YMCA President Bob Jacobs also presented service pins to Don Clark — 30 years; Connie David — 20 years; Develyn Holden and Eddrick Martin — 15 years; Adrian Brumfield, Susan Kocke, Harry Smith, Martha Beckwith, McKinley Breckenridge, Joe Capece, Rebecca Decoteau and Nancy Kuhlmeier — 10 years; and Chiwani Davis, Joshua Franklin, Angela Greenman, Jessica Huckaby, Angela LeBlanc, Sara Ryle, Heather Shaw, Al Smith and Cory Sperier — five years.
