Baton Rouge artist Larry Downs took first-place honors for his acrylic painting “Waiting Their Turn” in the Louisiana Art & Artists Guild Iberville Chapter’s annual Art Show at the Rosedale Art Depot Oct. 17-19. That honor came with a $250 cash prize.
Second place and its $150 prize went to Baton Rouge artist Claudia LeJeune for her watercolor “Super Chiller Engine”; third place and a $100 prize went to Patricia Delk, of Denham Springs, for her pencil sketch “ Topper & Aubrey”; and fourth place to Baton Rougean Jim Packard for his acrylic “Sugar Cane Road.”
Honorable mentions went to Calvin Balencie and Kathy Miller Stone, of Baton Rouge; Laurie Broussard, of Grosse Tete; and Randy LaPrairie, of Plaquemine.
The show and its 72 entries were judged by award-winning artist, art teacher and lecturer Betty LaBauve, co-owner of The Barn Studio in Plaquemine.
