.

As I’ve mentioned previously, April is one very busy month.

On Friday, there’s a wine tasting benefiting Hospice of Baton Rouge at Circa 1857 and the Pennington Biomedical Research Foundation’s The Answer at the C.B. Pennington Jr. Conference Center.

The wine tasting gets underway at 6 p.m. and is hosted by The Guru, Mosaic Garden, Rue Cou Cou, Sally’s and Yvette Marie’s Café. The Answer starts with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., and the trivia competition begins at 7:30. This year’s theme is “Bronco Busters & Buckle Bunnies,” so you have a few days to contemplate your costume.

On Saturday night the Companion Animal Alliance is having its Fur Ball, beginning at 6:30 at Celtic Media Center. Also on that night, Varla Jean Merman will be performing at 7:30 at the Manship Theater to raise money for HAART.

Sunday night at 7:30 the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre presents Regional Dance America/Southwest Festival’s Gala Performance at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. It will feature dancers from nine dance companies including BRBT, which will be performing a specially commissioned piece by the Martha Graham company.
