Armed with $150 gift cards, 35 area children in need of a little help to have a good Christmas patrolled the aisles of the Millerville Road location of Target, Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, aided by personnel from the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office. A Target community grant called 'Heroes & Helpers' funded the program, said Nicholas Dewhurst, the store's executive team leader for asset protection.The kids, nominated by community leaders based on need, loaded carts with excitement, and smiles similar to those worn of law enforcement and store personnel.
