Grief support group

Free grief support group sessions with facilitator Christine Brasseaux, LMSW, are being offered through The Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Movie on the Plaza

The Main Library on Goodwood will show Marvel’s “The Avengers” (PG-13) at 7 p.m. Friday for its free Movie on the Plaza series.

Families are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to view the film on the big screen in the outdoor plaza.

Refreshments will be available for purchase, and free punch will be served. The movie will be simulcast in the library’s large meeting room for those in need of air conditioning.

Music and more

Howard Pink and His Magical Garden Hoses will entertain elementary-age children at 2:30 p.m. Monday in meeting room 2 at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.

Pink’s program, revolving around the history and development of the French horn, includes singing, storytelling and musical magic.

Cartooning with Mike

Artist and author Mike Artell will lead children ages 6 to 11 through step-by-step cartooning at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library’s meeting room 2.

Brown Bag Movie

Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library’s Brown Bag Movie of the week for children is “The Bully Billy Goat and Other Stories.” Children should bring lunch and a drink.

The movie will be shown in meeting room 2.

The library is unable to accommodate large groups or day cares.

Cangelosi Dance Project

Contemporary, jazz and classical dance will be featured when Cangelosi Dance Project presents its annual Contemporary Craze at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library.

The performance is for ages 6 to 11.
