The crew of Sonic Drive-In at 18189 Highland Road is one of 12 teams to compete in the last round of Sonic’s annual Dr Pepper Sonic Games, a multimonth competition and training program recognizing the best Sonic crews across the country.

“The Highlanders” will compete at the national finals at the annual Sonic convention in Kansas City, Missouri, in September.

The Highlanders team consists of Lindsey Richardson, team leader; Jamie Cooper, swamp (food preparation); Jacob Hartt, grill; Spenser Hunt, fountain (drink preparation); Whitney Guy, switchboard (order taking); Zachary Guy, carhop; and Matthew Musso, dresser.

“This is a huge accomplishment for The Highlanders, and I couldn’t be more proud as they make their third appearance in the Dr Pepper Sonic Games,” Sonic franchisee Ted Kergan said.

The 12 teams have been through nine months of competition that culminates in the event in Kansas City, where they will go head to head in two days of team and individual skills competitions. After the final competition, Sonic’s top executives will recognize the teams with medals for the gold, silver and bronze winners in front of more than 3,000 Sonic convention attendees.
