A 47-year-old Baton Rouge man was indicted Wednesday in the rape of a child.

An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury charged Clint M. Jackson, 567 Sharp Lane, with aggravated rape.

An aggravated rape conviction carries an automatic sentence of life in prison.

Police arrested Jackson in June. He is accused of raping the child — now 14 — between June 2008 and June 2012, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Jackson’s case has been assigned to state District Judge Trudy White.
