OAK GROVE — Ascension Parish sheriff's deputies arrested an Oak Grove man in a Monday night shooting that left one person wounded.

Ascension Parish Chief Deputy Bobby Webre said Tuesday that the shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. Monday on Jessica Street in the "Trailerland" area of northern Ascension Parish, which is just south of Bayou Manchac and the parish line.

Webre said deputies are still looking for the person they believe was the shooter but arrested Lennis Godeaux, 62, 18290 Jessica St., Prairieville.

Jail records show Godeaux was booked Tuesday morning on counts of criminal conspiracy and attempted possession with intention to distribute Schedule II drugs.

The shooting victim, a man, was driven to the St. George Fire Department on Antioch Road in East Baton Rouge Parish where he sought medical assistance, Webre added.

Webre said the victim was shot twice but did not have life-threatening wounds.
