A 20-year-old Baton Rouge man accused of accidentally shooting a friend during a fight with another man near Gardere Lane was indicted Thursday on a manslaughter charge.
An East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury accused Joshua K. Daigre, 1926 St. Croix Ave., of fatally shooting 19-year-old Larry Williams on March 28.
A manslaughter conviction carries up to 40 years in prison.
Daigre and Williams got into a fight with an unidentified man at 10 p.m. near 1656 Jade Ave., Sheriff’s Office officials have said.
Daigre pulled out a gun during the fight and accidentally shot Williams, Sheriff’s Office officials stated.
Daigre’s case has been assigned to state District Judge Richard Anderson.
