Kenilworth Science and Technology Charter School started a new school year Aug. 13 at maximum enrollment for the third consecutive year, with 582 students in classrooms and 249 students on a waiting list, according to a news release.

The official student count will be taken Oct. 1.

“We are committed to keeping a lower student-teacher ratio because research and our experience show that students learn better in smaller classrooms,” Kenilworth Superintendent Tevfik Eski said.

“Right now, we are averaging about 26 students per class, and that ratio probably will change a little as everyone gets settled.”
