Wednesday is expected to be the first busy day of the 2014 General Session of the Louisiana Legislature. House committees are considering bills that would further restrict abortions and impact Common Core standards for public schools. The New York Times reports, the state is filled with literary landmarks for travelers to discover ranging from plantations to tucked away bookstores.

Baton Rouge is the last stop on the literary tour which includes a visit to the state capitol building for Robert Penn Warren’s book “All the King’s Men,” about former Gov. Huey P. Long.
