Costumed Sacred Heart of Jesus School junior high students took part in the annual Halloween Walk-A-Thon on Oct. 30 to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The students collected $1,500 for Type 1 diabetes research.
The Walk-A-Thon, sponsored by the Sacred Heart of Jesus School Physical Education Department, was emceed by eighth-graders Faith Woods, Maggie Hurdle and Caroline Dazzio.
The award for best group costume went to The S’mores: comprised of sixth-graders Gabriela Barbin, Frances Rhodes, Madeleine Brown and Anna Musso.
Best individual costume awards went to sixth-grader Dashiell Pickenheim as Meow Cat and seventh-grader Annie Laurie Guttzeit as anime character Inuyasha.
Students also participated in a shaving cream and cheese ball toss. Winners were:
EIGHTH GRADE: Elise Encalade, Ty Grenfell, Martin Helouin, Abby Ligon, Emily Reynaud and Caroline Dazzio.
SEVENTH GRADE: Kaitlyn Nguyen, Molly Trelles, Adam Werth, James Robert and Andrew Kleinpeter.
SIXTH GRADE: Rayne Cooper, CeCe Werth, Madeleine Brown, Blake Hester and Kelby Chenevert.
