Don’t fret too much about that stinky smell around the LSU campus Thursday morning.

It was just a construction company bleeding down a gas line in preparation for some work in the area, Will Johnson, customer service representative for Entergy, said.

“You have to bleed lines before you do any type of work on them,” he said, noting the task was “causing strong odors in the air.”

Crews and supervisors are in the area, he said. “It’s under control.

“It should be over by now,” he said around 8:40 a.m. “It’s just a momentary thing.”
