Capital Area CASA Association will wrap up its playhouse raffle fundraiser with CASA Kids Day, a free children’s safety and wellness fair from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Mall of Louisiana.
Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn from the Playmakers production of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” and princesses Cinderella, Belle and Ariel will make appearances. Children can enjoy face-painting with National Charity League, balloon twisting with Troubles and Rainbow the clowns, a karate demonstration from Zachary Karate, music with Mrs. Dorothy & Her Traveling Shaky Egg Band and storytime with Mary Kelly, The Book Doctor. Families also may participate in a fitness activity with YMCA.
The fair will conclude with the CASA playhouse giveaway at 5 p.m. The playhouse is on display in the downstairs center court of the Mall of Louisiana. Raffle tickets are $5 each and are available at casabr.org or at the mall. Faulk and Meek General Contractors will deliver the playhouse to the winner within 60 miles of the Mall of Louisiana.
All proceeds from Casas for CASA will benefit Capital Area CASA Association, a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in need of safe, permanent homes.
