A water boil advisory that was issued Saturday in Port Allen was lifted Sunday morning.
Residents were told to boil water before drinking it after the city’s supply tested positive for E. Coli on Saturday, said Chief Administrative Officer Adrian Genre. Five samples that were tested Saturday showed “no harmful microbiological contamination,” Genre said. The state Department of Health and Hospitals confirmed the results, he said.
Residents can now resume using and consuming water as usual.
