The Zachary Chamber of Commerce has announced the semifinalists for its 2014 Business Awards.
The winners in each category will be announced at the annual banquet Oct. 16 at St. John the Baptist Church, 3824 Lee St.
Small Business of the Year: Chubby’s Pizza & Grill and Fitness Design For Women
Mid-size Business of the Year: Charlet Funeral Home and Moreau Physical Therapy
Large Business of the Year: Bank of Zachary and Sammy’s Grill
NEW BUSINESS OF THE YEAR: Honey’s Love and Lina’s Kitchen
BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR: John Dry, owner of Dry’s Pharmacy, and Francis Nezianya, of Subway
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD: Jill McGraw and Ryan Talbot
The Hall of Distinction Awards are presented to residents whose lives and careers have embodied the core values of the Zachary Chamber of Commerce, organizers said. The families of the late David Horton and Dr. Hubert Owen will accept these awards on their behalf. Betty Tucker will also receive the award.
David Dodson, executive editor of the Baton Rouge Business Report, will be the guest speaker, and Charles Hanagriff, of Guaranty Broadcasting, will provide the commentary throughout the evening.
