METROPOLITAN COUNCIL DISTRICT 5 CITIZEN ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING: 6 p.m., EBR Acceleration Academy located at 5959 Cadillac St., Baton Rouge. Metropolitan Councilwoman Ronnie Edwards, District 5, will host her next Citizen Advisory Council Meeting. All residents are encouraged to attend to receive important council and community updates. Special guest presenter state Rep. Regina Ashford Barrow will give updates on the 2011 legislative session.

BATON ROUGE PRESS CLUB: Lunch, which is served at 11:30 a.m., De La Ronde Hall, 320 Third St. in downtown Baton Rouge. East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Kip Holden will speak. Holden will discuss the $748,454,619 capital improvements bond package he hopes to ask voters to approve this fall. Lunch is $12 for members and $15 for non-members. The public is invited, but only members of the Press Club and members of the news media are allowed to ask questions during the question-and-answer portion of the program.
