Runnels volleyball wins Sportsmanship Award _lowres

The Runnels volleyball team has been selected Division 5 and overall winner of the Capital City Board of Volleyball Officials’ 2015 Sportsmanship Award, a news release said.

CCBVO, which serves 47 area schools, is the largest volleyball officiating association in the state.

Runnels now enters the state competition as CCBVO’s nominee for the 2015 Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s 2015 Sportsmanship Award. LHSAA will select one of seven teams to be recognized at the volleyball state finals on Nov. 14 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.

CCBVO President Monica McClure presented a commemorative plaque to the team, its coaches, fans and Runnels School at Senior Volleyball Night on Monday.
