An Avoyelles Parish man was arrested for the second time within five months for illegally dumping waste tires, according to the state Department of Environmental Quality.

DEQ’s Criminal Investigation Division obtained two arrest warrants for Daniel Lachney, 52, of Marksville — one in Avoyelles Parish and one in Pointe Coupee Parish.

According to DEQ, Lachney started renting a home in Hessmer in 2014 and used the property to illegally dispose of more than 2,000 waste tires. He was arrested on a warrant for that incident in October 2015.

On Friday, he was arrested again on allegations that he illegally dumped 622 waste tires on 2014 on property in Lettsworth, according to DEQ.

Anyone with information about environmental incidents is asked to call DEQ at (225) 219-3640 or (888) 763-5424.
