A new food festival is coming to Baton Rouge in May, and it sounds delicious.

On Wednesday, organizers revealed the menus and music planned for the inaugural Red Stick Food Fest from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the L’Auberge Casino & Hotel’s outdoor festival grounds.

More than two dozen dishes will be available for purchase from a number of the region’s restaurants and caterers. Just a sampling: Meat pies, poboys, shrimp remoulade, jambalaya, crawfish nachos, shrimp corn dogs and more. See the full menu and list of restaurants and other information at www.redstickfoodfest.com.

In addition to the food, the festival offers local arts, crafts and jewelry vendors and three bands, The Gillis Silo, The Anteeks and Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Radio hosts Walton & Johnson, heard locally on Eagle 98.1 FM, will also make an appearance.

Admission is free. All ages are welcome. The event will take place rain or shine. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation.
