The East Baton Rouge Parish School System will hold community follow-up forums on the proposal to create four regional attendance zones for “families” of schools. mlk performing arts night: 6 p.m., LSU Union Theatre, Raphael Semmes Road, LSU campus. Students will celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. through poetry, dance and musical expression. The event is free and open to the public.

basic gardening series: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd. The East Baton Rouge Parish Master Gardeners hosts a Basic Gardening Series.   • ew orleans ladies of jazz concert: 7 p.m., Baton Rouge Magnet High School, 2825 Government St. The concert is the first of three concerts in the New Orleans Ladies of Jazz concert series. It will feature Leah Chase. Participating musicians include Mike Esneault, pianist-composer, and Bobby Campo, trumpeter. Admission is $20. Proceeds will go to the school’s band program.
