A missing two-year-old was found unharmed Tuesday afternoon in the northern part of the city, Baton Rouge police said.

A’Kyleana Louise Latham, the daughter of Taylor Latham was found shortly before 1 p.m. after someone dropped her off in the area of the 7500 block of Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge police said.

Police won’t confirm the exact location of where the child was dropped off.

Police said they don’t know who dropped her off, but detectives said there may be some clues at the location where she was found and they are investigating.

The body of the child’s mother, Taylor Latham, 24, 1247 Louisiana Ave., was found inside a car in the same block where she lived sometime Monday night, but her child was not with her.

Later police determined that Taylor Latham had likely been shot Saturday, and both she and her daughter had not been seen since Saturday.

Police said that the woman and her child moved to Baton Rouge from Texas a few months ago.

An endangered/missing child alert was sent out early Tuesday by the State Police in an effort to locate the child. The alert was sent instead of an Amber Alert because authorities did not have a suspect, a suspect’s description, or even a vehicle description for people to be on the lookout for, State Police said.
