The LSU Tigerettes will celebrate their 50th anniversary at the LSU Tiger Alumi Band reunion on Saturday, Oct. 3. The band’s former twirling corps also will be featured in a special routine during the alumni band’s halftime performance a the Tigers’ game against East Michigan University in Tiger Stadium.
The Tigerettes were formed in 1965 and dissolved after 1984 to make way for a rifle corps. The line was made up of 16 twirlers, and at one time, there were feature twirlers who performed separately from the line.
The photos here were provided by former Tigerettte Susan Watson Pullens, who with fellow Tigerettes Doren Scimeca Harrell and Lori Sumerford Newsome, put together the events for the weekend celebration.
