The number of outages is down to about 2,500.

Power has been restored to Jefferson Place and Bocage neighborhoods but is still out in areas such as Town Center and Goodwood.

Some 5,000 customers near the Towne Center shopping mall in Baton Rouge are without power Wednesday morning, according to data from Entergy Louisiana.

The electricity company reported the outages started from 6:43 a.m. to 7:32 a.m. in an area between Goodwood Road to the north and Interstate 12 on the south.

According to the online data, Entergy estimates most of the power will be restored by noon.

An Entergy spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a request for information.
