Sacred Heart of Jesus School held its annual Grandparents Day celebration on Nov. 20 in the Sacred Heart School Gym. This year’s theme was “The Wonderful World of Sacred Heart Grandparents.”

Emcees were Principal Joanie Hutson and development director Michelle Schroeder. The Rev. Miles Walsh, priest at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, greeted guests.

The program began with a prayer service led by the seventh-graders, followed by musical performances by the remaining grades: “Mickey Mouse Club,” prekindergarten; “Life Is A Highway,” third grade; “Let It Go,” first grade; “Dig A Little Deeper,” sixth grade; “It’s A Small World After All,” kindergarten; “Hakuna Matata,” fifth grade; “I Just Can’t Wait to be King,” second grade; “Surf’s Up,” fourth grade; and “Breaking Free,” eighth grade.

School cheerleaders also performed and eighth-grade students presented roses to their grandparents.

Refreshments were served following the program.
