Hillary Clinton is running for president in 2016, according to the New York Times.

The New York Times reports, Clinton's second run for the White House was announced via email from her campaign chairman John Podesta.

This is not her first try at the Oval Office, as Clinton ran for president in 2008. Though she was seen as a front-runner, Barack Obama took the election. So far the race for the 2016 Democratic nomination is not contested with Clinton the sole Democratic candidate.

During the 2014 U.S. Senate election, Clinton stumped for former Sen. Mary Landrieu in New Orleans. The event 'Women with Mary Geaux Vote' called on women to vote for the Democratic Party.
