The Harlequins held their 90th annual ball at the New Orleans Theater of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center last evening.
Prior to the ball, the queen of the 2013 ball, Miss Sarah Marie Favrot McLellan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Richmond McLellan, was escorted into the ballroom and seated. The band then played “The Star-Spangled Banner,” after which the captain and his lieutenants entered and greeted the assembled guests.
A brief tableau was presented to the amusement of all.
The captain’s whistle was heard and the main curtain opened to reveal the royal throne, from which the king greeted his guests and received the maids.
Following the presentation of the maids to his majesty, trumpets sounded and the royal coronation march was heard. The queen of the ball, Miss Erin Curry Reily, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harrington Reily, entered the ballroom escorted by Mr. John Peter Labouisse III.
The captain met the queen and presented her to the king, who welcomed her and escorted her to the royal throne where together they greeted the assembled guests.

Then the 50-year queen of The Harlequins, Ms. Christine Phillips Westfeldt, was presented to their majesties.
The presentation was followed by a grand march of the 2014 court.
