Former LSU basketball standout Tim Quarterman was arrested Monday after allegedly leading a pursuit and assaulting Mississippi state troopers, according to a report from WTVA.
Quarterman, who played for LSU for two seasons and has played for the Houston Rockets and Portland Trailblazers, allegedly led the pursuit after troopers attempted to stop him on Highway 278 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi.
The pursuit went all the way to Highway 15, according to the report, at which point Quarterman rammed his truck into a police vehicle, causing it to crash into another vehicle, police said.
Quarterman and an officer were hospitalized. He was booked for aggravated assault and felony fleeing, the report said.
The 6-foot-6 guard played for LSU from 2015-'16. He declared for the NBA draft after his junior season, but went unselected. Quarterman recently was reported to have signed a contract with the Jiangsu Dragons on the Chinese Basketball Association earlier in January.
