Superstar Taylor Swift is returning to LSU’s Tiger Stadium on May 22, it was announced Monday morning.

Swift’s performance will be on the Friday preceding the two-day Bayou Country Superfest, scheduled for May 23-24. Swift performed at the inaugural Superfest in 2010.

Before playing Baton Rouge, Swift will open her 58-city “1989 World Tour” tour in Bossier City on May 20. Swift released her new album, 1989, last Monday.

When Swift performed at Superfest in 2010, she was one of many country stars who flavored her country songs with pop influences. The singer’s return to Tiger Stadium follows her full-fledged departure from country music to pop with new album, “1989.” Released last week, “1989” reached the 1 million sales mark in its first week of release.
