Jones Creek Road will be closed to traffic this weekend starting just south of Coursey Boulevard for sewer system work, city-parish government officials said Thursday.
The road will close at 8 p.m. on Friday and reopen at 8 p.m. on Sunday, officials said, to install a sewer line across Jones Creek Road between a Walgreens and a Circle K. Jones Creek has been closed several times in recent weeks as the city-parish works on the sewer system.
The suggested detour for northbound through traffic during the closure is to take Market Street off Jones Creek Road to Coursey Boulevard, then back to Jones Creek Road. Southbound through traffic should take Coursey to Market Street and then back to Jones Creek.
Businesses along the route will be open and accessible as usual, officials said.
