Capital Area United Way board members, Alexis de Tocqueville donors, partner agency executive directors and staff gathered Jan. 28 to honor outgoing President/CEO Darrin Goss Sr.
Goss, who led CAUW since July 2013, was presented a hand-drawn picture of the building the organization has occupied for more than 30 years.
“This is a bittersweet moment in my life,” Goss said. “I am truly grateful for the support I’ve received from the board of directors, donors and staff. We have made great progress at Capital Area United Way, and I have no doubt this progress will continue.”
Board Chairman Ralph Bender and Board Chairman-elect Stephen Toups will be co-interim CEOs while CAUW searches for its next leader. Board members, community leaders and partner agency representatives will fill the search committee, which hopes to name a new president/CEO by July.
“Darrin leaves behind an incredible team, a path to greater impact in our community, and we are prepared to stay the course,” Toups said.
